Hinomaru

Exploring new art styles, I wanted to do something that revolves around Japanese culture as inspired by the Nightblade trilogy by Ryan Kirk. I settled on my first thumbnail idea sketch which consists of a warrior, standing on a rooftop, facing the red sun (much like Japan's national flag) with his sword drawn because I thought that it will look epic with the right colours. Not wasting any time, I hopped into Photoshop and started creating. After a few hours of work, this is the result. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! :D
